NITRO, W.Va. — Nitro High School sophomore pitcher/outfielder Levi Kelly announced his decision to transfer to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., to continue his high school baseball career.
“I will continue my high school career at IMG Academy want to thank everyone who has helped me in my hometown and the entire Nitro staff,” Kelly said via Twitter.
Kelly emerged this past year as one of the top baseball recruits in the country for the class of 2018 and made his college commitment to LSU.
As a freshman, Kelly put together a 3-3 record and 2.74 ERA, finishing with 46 strikeouts in 30 2/3 innings. He also hit .292 on the year with 10 doubles, three home runs and 16 RBIs.
