WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Democrat presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton arrived in Williamson Monday afternoon as protesters outside a health care clinic there chanted “go home!”
The former Secretary of State joined a roundtable discussion at the Williamson Health and Wellness Center as part of her Breaking Down Barriers bus tour.
U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who previously endorsed Clinton, was in attendance. Protesters yelled “Traitor Joe!,” “USA!,” “Coal!” and several other things at him when he arrived.
Former President Bill Clinton also received some heat in Logan Sunday when he made a stop there before heading to an event at the state Capitol later that day.
His wife got a tour of the facility with the executive director before Monday’s event started. She’s scheduled to speak with retired coal miners later in the evening.
