MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A former Martinsburg pharmacist was sentenced to five to 75 years in prison Monday in Berkeley County Circuit Court.

A jury found David Wasanyi, 48,  guilty in October on 13 counts of delivery of a controlled substance, including oxycodone, methadone and alprazolam.

The Herald Mail reports Wasanyi was ordered to serve the prison sentence after serving a sentence of three to 11 years that was imposed in September for his previous conviction in April on similar charges.

After Monday’s sentencing, Berkeley County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Kinser said prosecutors dismissed 79 additional counts pending against Wasanyi in the case.

Wasanyi also faces prosecution on a similar drug-dispensing case pending in Jefferson Circuit Court.
