Suspect arrested in Nicholas County death

BIRCH RIVER, W.Va. — State police in Nicholas County have arrested a man in connection with a Tuesday morning shooting death.

Bobby Miness was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Webster County, troopers said.

Miness took off from a residence on Bays Road near Birch River in Nicholas County at about 7:30 a.m. after shooting Nathan Branham, troopers said.

Branham, 28, died of multiple gunshot wounds.

There’s no word yet on what charges Miness faces.
