Ravenswood plant to expand and add employees

RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. — A Jackson County plant is expanding and will add about 30 new jobs in the months to come.

“The plant is currently running five single-screw lines and four twin-screw lines,” said Sunny Naik CEO of Niche Polymers in Ravenswood. “We have plans to bring in two more twin-screw lines fully installed by our crew here in Ravenswood in the next few months.”

Naik told MetroNews Affiliate WMOV Radio this week it was an exciting announcement. Since starting operations in 2008, the company has been able to continue to grow in size and in production output.

“The plant itself has been here for quite some time and Niche Polymers has been here since 2008,” Naik told WMOV. “With the investment we’ve put into growing the plant, we’ve seen an increase in production and this new equipment is the way to keep growing here.”

The company produces engineering polymers for the automotive industry. Their specialty line is Nylon products, but they have an array of products. About 30 jobs will be created to add to the company’s payroll. Most of those will be extruder operators.

“We’re taking applications at the door,” said Naik. “We’re doing interviews and really looking to ramp up and be ready for the expansion when it comes.”

Ravenswood Mayor Josh Miller was thrilled after a tour of the operation.

“I’m extremely excited about them bringing on potentially 30 new hires,” said the Mayor. “Anytime you hear the work ‘expansion’ in your town, that’s a great thing to hear.”
