Accident in Morgantown leaves one dead, two injured

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A two vehicle accident Saturday left one person dead and two others injured.

Morgantown police say the accident happened when the vehicles—A Nissan Xterra and a Ford F-350—collided at the intersection of the Grafton Road and the east bound on-ramp of I-68 just after six o’clock Saturday evening.

Police say a passenger in the Xterra was killed. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.

The drivers—Kelley Lee Deem of Harpers Ferry who was driving the Xterra and Matthew Alan Roth of Parsons who was driving the truck—were both taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police say Deem was attempting to turn from the Grafton Road onto the I-68 ramp when he was struck by Roth’s vehicle coming the other way.
