Berkeley County man wanted following Friday shooting

BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. — A Berkeley County man is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that took place Friday afternoon.

West Virginia State Police said Joshua Clyde Newill, 29, of Bunker Hill, entered a Manicure Lane home and shot 46-year-old Claude Triplett before leaving the residence.

Triplett was transported to Winchester Medical Center and was later pronounced dead.

According to Newill’s girlfriend, he fled the area in a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban with a West Virginia plate 6ZL182.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Virginia State Police.
