Worker killed in Raleigh County I-64 construction zone accident

RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. — No charges were filed in the immediate aftermath of the death of a construction worker killed in an Interstate 64 work zone in Raleigh County.

State Police told WSAZ Television the victim, identified as Nino Garcia, died after being backed over by a service truck one of his fellow workers was driving in the I-64 work zone near Beaver.

It happened at Mile Marker 128.

The accident was reported after 12 p.m. Friday, May 11, according to emergency officials.
