Baylous sworn in as US marshal

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A investiture ceremony for U.S. Marshal Michael Baylous was held Friday at the federal courthouse in Charleston.

The U.S. Senate confirmed Baylous to the position in February. U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., recommended Baylous to President Donald Trump. Baylous is the marshal for the southern district of West Virginia.

“This is my dream job,” Baylous said Friday. “This is such a wonderful experience. To have so many people that I love and so many people that I admire to celebrate this with me.”

Baylous previously served as a spokesman for the West Virginia State Police, where he has earned the rank of lieutenant.
