ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. — A suspect in the murder of a Roane County man has been named.
Michael John Smith, 37, hometown unknown, was wanted for allegedly killing James Hall, 36, who was found dead Sunday in Spencer.
What was initially called a “suspicious death” was later labeled a homicide.
Involved in the search for Smith were State Police troopers, deputies with the Roane County Sheriff’s Department and those with the U.S. Marshals.
Investigators said Smith was armed.
The search for him continued at the start of Thanksgiving Day.
