Greenbrier County student killed in ATV accident

BINGHAM, W.Va. — A Greenbrier West High School student died in an ATV accident during the weekend.

Chad Ramsey

According to sheriff’s deputies, 18-year-old Chad Ramsey was driving the ATV in the Bingham area in the western end of the county Sunday, when he lost control of the vehicle on a gravel road and was ejected. He was flown to a Roanoke, Virginia hospital, where he later died from unspecified injuries.

Investigators said Ramsey was the vehicle’s only occupant and was wearing a seat belt, at the time of the accident. The ATV reportedly was equipped with a roll cage.

Ramsey was a senior and a football player at the school in Charmco.
