MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — For many WVU students living on campus the last time they were in their dorm rooms was before Spring Break when the the coroanvirus shutdown was announced.

From May 18 through June 6 students will be able to come back to campus to get belongings and return to their homes until fall.
“We’ll have some similar processes, the same rules and guidance that the CDC and local health departments have provided us,” WVU Dean of Students Dr. Corey Farris said Wednesday. “Which includes social distancing and wearing masks.”
Students will schedule a block of time to move out and Farris said up to three students will be allowed on a floor at a time.
“They’ll be moving out between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, some of the Saturdays are included, no Sundays and Memorial Day weekend will not be included in that,” he said.
The process will be monitored by officials and should take about three hours per student, according to Farris.
“When they come into our buildings they will be provided masks and gloves if they don’t bring them, because we’re going to advise them they need to wear them while they’re in the building to move out.”
The move out process from residence halls is a much less work intensive procedure, so students will only be allowed one person to come with them.
“Students are really only packing up clothes and personal belongings,” Farris said. “There’s not really couches, furniture and refrigerators, beds and bed frames that students are moving out. Residence hall move out generally goes pretty quickly.”
Students can schedule a time by emailing reslife@mail.wvu.edu.
Farris adds the buildings will be thoroughly cleaned in preparation for the fall move in.
