Wheeling police investigate shooting death

WHEELING, W.Va. — A person was shot and killed inside a Wheeling club Saturday morning.

According to Wheeling police, a man shot another person inside Mac’s Club on Edgington Lane in Wheeling’s Edgewood neighborhood at a little after 2 a.m.

Police said multiple shots were fired and a few other people inside the club suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries.

The victim was pronounced dead at Wheeling hospital.

Police said they responded to a shots fired call at around 4 a.m. along North Erie Street. They said they don’t know if the two shootings are connected.

The suspect is a black man in his 20s or early 30s. He’s about 5-5 and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He has short hair.

Police haven’t released any other information about the victim.
