MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Monongalia County emergency crews are taking part in a search and rescue operation at Coopers Rock State Forest in response to reports of a potential missing person.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department announced Thursday afternoon deputies began the search at around 12:45 p.m. They were joined by search and rescue teams that were supported by nearly a half dozen agencies including Mon County EMS, the Brookhaven and Cheat Lake volunteer fire departments, the Morgantown Area Rescue Group and officials with the state park system.
Coopers Rock is on the Monongalia-Preston county line.
No further information was immediately released.
