A Dec. trial date is scheduled in a Kanawha County murder case. Former shoe salesman Charlie March was arraigned Friday while on a gurney after a recent suicide attempt.
March, 60, is charged with first-degree murder. He allegedly killed Kathy Goble two years ago and buried her body in his backyard in Chesapeake.
Goble’s dismembered body was found back in April on the second anniversary of her disappearance. The two worked together at Kelley’s Mens Shop in Charleston.
March pleaded not guilty to the charge Friday during the arraignment by Kanawha County Circuit Judge Duke Bloom.
March was wheeled into the courtroom on a gurney after his attempted suicide last week at the South Central Regional Jail. March jumped off the second story cellblock.
Judge Bloom granted a gag order in the case on a request from March’s attorney. March is scheduled to be evaluated by a psychiatrist in the near future.
March’s trial is scheduled for Dec. 10.
