Herd lands 4-star wide receiver

Doc Holliday and his staff have a way of making an impression on a recruit and continuing to pursue him even if he commits to another school. That persistence paid off once again as The Herd landed a high-profile recruit from Florida.

Four-star wide receiver Angelo Jean-Louis has committed to Marshall, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Jean-Louis had been intent on attending the University of Miami but was unable to qualify academically for the 2012 season. He enrolled at Fork Union Military Academy to work on his grades with hopes of enrolling at Miami for the 2013 season. However, Jean-Louis’ plans were disrupted when the university flagged his test scores.

“I would have to wait too long for them to investigate (my scores),” Jean-Louis said, referring to the Miami admissions process. “Marshall’s been here for me since Day 1. We decided it was a good place for me, so I pulled the trigger,” Jean-Louis told Jeff Greer of the Palm Beach Post.

Jean-Louis, listed at 6-feet tall and 185 pounds, is slated to enroll at Marshall for the spring semester.
