Herd adds three commits for 2013 class

The Thundering Herd received three more verbal commitments for its 2013 recruiting class. Stefan Houston (linebacker/safety), Justin Hunt (wide receiver), and Arnold Blackmon (defensive end) have declared their intentions to play football for Doc Holliday and the Thundering Herd.

Stefan Houston, LB/S, (6-3, 200), Fork Union Military Academy
Houston originally signed with Maryland but ended up enrolling at Fork Union Military Academy. During his senior season at Clarksburg (Md.) High School, Houston recorded 85 tackles, eight sacks and three interceptions. Houston also had three defensive touchdowns to his credit. He is projected to play safety next season.

Justin Hunt, WR, (6-3, 180), Whitehaven (Tenn.) High School
Hunt is rated a two-star prospect by Rivals.com and could bring a little size and speed to the Marshall receiving corps.

The Memphis, Tenn., native has a decorated background in track and field. Hunt was fourth in the 300 meter hurdles and recorded a personal record 11.24 seconds in the 100-meter dash at the 2012 Tennessee outdoor track championships.

Hunt also had offers from Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State and Arkansas State.

Arnold Blackmon, DE, (6-2, 235), Navarro (Texas) Junior College
Blackmon needed to put on some size and weight coming out of high school and opted to enroll at Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas, where he has certainly grown up. During his two season he’s put on 20 pounds and actually grown an inch taller.

Blackmon registered 21 tackles for loss this past year to lead the Southwest Junior College Conference.  He was also second in the league with eight sacks.
