Wood County man charged with heroin dealing for second time this year

A Wood County man is facing drug charges for allegedly selling heroin out of a room at a hotel in Mineral Wells, just more than a month after being arrested on separate heroin charges.

Members of the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force arrested Timothy James Thorne, 43, from Mineral Wells early Thursday morning after reports of possible drug activity at the Mineral Wells Inn.

Parkersburg Police say they found $8,000 on Thorne when the vehicle he was in was stopped and more than 18 grams of heroin, valued at $5,400, when his room at the hotel was later searched.

Thorne, who is facing felony charges of possession of heroin with intent to deliver, was being held in the North Central Regional Jail on $250,500 bail on Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say he’d been out on bond for an arrest last month tied to allegations of heroin dealing in the Parkersburg area.  State Police had arrested him on January 5th.
