Tom Herrion added a pair of junior college transfers to the Thundering Herd’s roster for the upcoming season. Justin Edmonds and Cheikh Sane singed National Letters of Intent Wednesday to play with The Herd.

Edmonds has played for Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio for the past two seasons. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound guard averaged 18.0 points per game, 4.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists last season. His year was cut short following a knee injury 15 games into the year.
“Justin is a great addition to our basketball program, he had a terrific career at Owens for coach (Dave) Clarke, before his knee injury,” said Herrion. “He is a big, strong and versatile guard who we feel can make an impact for us right away.”
During his freshman season, Edmonds led The Express with 18.8 points pr game and was a First Team All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference selection.

Sane comes from Dakar, Senegal and has spent the last two years at Snow College in Ephram, Utah. Sane helped Snow College to a pair of 20 win seasons averaging 10.4 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game this past season. Sane is a 6-foot-9, 217-pound power forward and was an All-Region 18 and All-Scenic West Athletic Conference first team selection.
“We are thrilled to bring Cheikh into our basketball family, he had an outstanding sophomore season at Snow for coach (Robert) Nielson,” Herrion said. “His improvement from his freshman to sophomore years was dramatic and we are excited to add a talented and physical frontcourt player like Cheikh to our program.”
Edmonds and Sane join Shawn Smith, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound forward at City College of San Francisco who signed with the Thundering Herd in November.
