Wheeling fight victim dies from injuries

WHEELING, W.Va. — A man who suffered critical injuries in a fight Thursday morning died Friday.

Wheeling police said Anthony Demello was pronounced dead at Wheeling Hospital.

Police said they were called to break up a fight at 50 Joan St. in Fulton on Thursday, but when they arrived on scene, no one was cooperating or wanted to file charges.

About an hour later, police received another call regarding a man found unconscious in the same area where the fight was reported.

Police said Demello suffered a head injury.

Detectives were conducting interviews Friday. No charges have been filed.
