Monongalia County man convicted for sex crimes that took place years ago

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Monongalia man was convicted Friday on 20 counts of sexual abuse, sodomy and incest stretching back 40 years.

Frank Russell Snider Sr., 76, of Earl L. Core Road was found guilty on all counts in a trial that ended Friday afternoon in Morgantown.

The assaults occurred during the 1960s and 1970s and four victims testified during the trial. Some of the victims came in from Florida and Maryland. The case broke after one of the victims saw members of Snider’s family on Facebook.

Snider was initially arrested in early January. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 3 at 2:00 p.m.
