Investigators search for missing St. Albans woman

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — A woman has been missing from the St. Albans and Jefferson area since Feb. 22, according to the The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators are searching for 33-year-old Francis Ann Wartenburg after she disappeared that Sunday.

Cpl. Brian Humphrey said the detectives have not received any information as to where Wartenburg was last seen or whom she last visited.

“We’ve talked to the family, friends, and boyfriend, but there’s still a lot of questions about where she went and who she may have been with,” said Humphrey.

Detectives have been working to track down her cell phone, but are waiting to receive that information. For now, the sheriff’s department has turned to the public for help.

“She’s not in any trouble. She has nothing to fear from us,” said Humphrey. “We just want to make sure she’s OK.”

Anyone with information on Wartenburg’s whereabouts were urged to call 304-357-0169. Information also can be submitted at www.kanawhasheriff.us/law-enforcement/tips.
