CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The September term of the Harrison County Grand Jury returned 70 indictments on Thursday.
“You’ve been busy,” Harrison County Circuit Judge Lewis Marks said to the jury as he looked over the documents accusing numerous individuals of various crimes.

Among those named include:
David Junior Markley, 64, a member of Lumberport town council, who is charged with one count of first degree sexual abuse, two counts of sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust, one count of second degree sexual assault, one count of first degree sexual assault and one count of incest.
He was arrested back in January and accused of sexual acts that occurred between 1984 and November 28 with at least three females, as young as 5 and as old as 16.
Markley was released on bond and regained his seat on council in the June election as one of five people running for the five positions.
Philomena Renee Liberty, 45, a former
SalemCorrectional Facility worker, who is charged with one count of transportation of controlled substances onto the grounds of a state correctional facility.
She was arrested in November 2014 after she was allegedly found with six types of pills –five requiring prescriptions, one of which she held a prescription for– in two different pill bottles, along with an envelope with a white powder substance.
Liberty maintained she never intended to distribute the substances.
Larry Manuel Defrietas, 42, and Kristin Liberty Gustke, 29, who were jointly indicted on one count of fleeing in a vehicle showing reckless indifference to the safety of others, one count of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited from possessing a firearm and three count of intent to deliver a controlled substance.
The two were arrested after leading police on a chase through Harrison County that ended with Defrietas exiting the vehicle and being caught on foot.
He would admit to smoking meth before the incident occurred and police found 15 grams of marijuana, 7 grams of raw heroin, 40 grams of crystal meth to go along with 17 grams found on Defrietas and .357 magnum handgun in the vehicle.
Arraignments for all those indicted was scheduled for Thursday and Friday of next week by Judge Marks.
