MONMOUTH COUNTY, N.J. — A man wanted for murder out of Beckley was awaiting an extradition hearing after he was found in central New Jersey.

Police said 38-year-old Tahim Malik Simmons, of Beckley, is accused of the shooting death last month of 27-year-old Calvin Lee Carlisle of Detroit. Simmons was located in Neptune, N.J. and arrested.

Carlisle’s body was found on August 25 in Simmons’ backyard on S. Fayette Street in Beckley, hidden beneath a pile of brush, according to police.

Simmons was being held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, N.J., pending the extradition hearing.
