Facebook founder proudly eating what he kills

Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg and Ted Nugent are in complete agreement.  There’s a sentence I never dreamed I’d type, particularly considering it’s in fact the truth.

Nugent, the Motor City Madman of course wrote the book on Kill it and Grill it, but Zuckerberg, the billionaire father of social media, has apparently taken up hunting as well and encourages folks to hunt or fish for their own meats

“Half of the joy is things taste better when you make them yourself, and they taste doubly better when you’ve hunted the animal yourself. Whether you’re fishing for the salmon, or going hunting for a boar, that’s a big part of it. You feel more connected to what you’re doing, to what you’re eating, and you cook it yourself and it’s this whole experience,” Zuckerberg told Facebook followers in an online video prior to one of the recent presidential debates.

Zuckerburg decided to show off his backyard in the video in which he interacted with viewers answering a myriad of questions.  Behind him, a green egg and another conventional smoker identified as “The General” worked on a brisckett and ribs presumably taken by Zuckerberg himself in a recent hunt.   Zuckerberg said he took up hunting four or five years ago and now eats what he kills.

He’s right, it does taste better when you kill it yourself.  I never would have expected Zuckerberg to be a hunter and fisherman.  Shame on me for prejudgement. But I’m glad to have him in the fold.  I have to laugh when today’s pop culture gushes over everything organic.  Welcome to the party, hunters have been eating organic for thousands of years.
