Tractor trailer fire shuts down turnpike

GHENT, W.Va.— Authorities say no injuries were reported after a tractor tractor became engulfed in flames Wednesday morning.

The incident happened at the 30 mile marker on I-77 southbound between the Ghent toll booths and the Ghent/Flat Top interchange.  It was reported to Turnpike authorities at around 7:15 Wednesday morning.

Both southbound lanes were closed while crews put out the blaze.  Traffic was at a standstill for about an hour before one lane was reopened.

The scene was cleared just before 10 Wednesday morning. The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.  No other vehicles were involved.
