Crews battle fire at Bluefield apartment building

UPDATE: The Bluefield Fire Department said Wednesday the cause of the fire is believed to be electrical. No injuries were reported in the blaze. Multiple pets were rescued from the three-story building.

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — Multiple fire departments continue to battle a blaze at a three-story apartment building.

The Bluefield Fire Department said they were dispatched to the scene just after 11:30 Tuesday morning. Smoke was visible coming from the Lewis Street structure.

Several units are assisting including Bluefield, Va. Fire Department and Green Valley-Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department.

No injuries have been reported. Nearby Bland Street remains closed Tuesday afternoon as crews work to extinguish the fire.
