Yeager Airport offers two additional months to book flights to Myrtle Beach, Fort Lauderdale

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Yeager Airport is extending non-stop flight service this year from Charleston to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and direct flights to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Flyers will have two additional months to book flights through Spirit Airlines to those destinations.

The flights will be available April 14 and will run through November. The service ended in September in previous years.

“We’re going about two months longer. They usually quit right after Labor Day in September,” said Airport Director Terry Sayre.

Tickets are reasonably priced, Sayre said.

“They’re relatively cheap. They’re in the low $100s starting out (round trip). The farther out you book, the cheaper it’s going to be,” he said.

The airport has an event scheduled for Mar. 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to promote the flight service. The event will be held at the Spirit Airlines ticket counter.

There will be giveaways, music and more. Yeager is encouraging people to wear their favorite beach gear for a chance to win free Spirit tickets.
