UPDATE: Man killed in Fayette County crash member of well-known band

Update 7.25.18, 12:00 pm:

OAK HILL, W.Va. — Fayette County deputies have announced the identity of the man killed in a crash on U.S. Route 19.

Stevie Watts, 30.

Stevie Watts, 30, was the guitarist for a popular Fayette County-based band known as Black Garlic.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Original 7.24.18, 8:00 pm:

OAK HILL, W.Va. — One person was killed in a fatal crash along a busy route in Fayette County.

Fayette County 911 received a motor vehicle accident call on U.S. Route 19 at the Route 612 intersection at around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. Upon arrival, first responders found a small SUV had collided into a mini-van. The driver of the mini-van died as a result of the crash.

The driver of the SUV was taken to Plateau Medical Center in stable condition. Deputies are still investigating how the crash occurred and are attempting to make contact with family members of the deceased driver.

Jan Care, General and Priority Ambulance responded alongside the Oak Hill Fire Department.
