Monongalia County woman charged, admits to biting husband’s face

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — An early morning domestic violence incident Tuesday on Brockway Avenue ended with a woman charged with a felony for allegedly biting her husband’s face.

Angelica Lynn Bishop, 32, of Star City, is charged with malicious assault, a felony, by the Morgantown Police Department.

Bishop bit her husband on the face, leaving a large bite mark on his left jaw, according to court documents. Teeth imprints were visible and the area was black and swollen.

The MPD responded to the Brockway Avenue home about 5:15 a.m. Bishop, wearing a black suit jacket and jeans, was found a few minutes later on Pennsylvania Avenue, the criminal complaint said.

She freely admitted to biting her husband’s face and was arrested, the complaint said.

Bishop was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court by Magistrate Sandy Holepit, who set bond at $25,000. Bond was posted by Tuesday afternoon.

If convicted, Bishop faces up to 5 years in prison or up to a year in jail with a fine of not more than $500.
