State police: Wrong way crash claims second life

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — State police say a second person has died from injuries suffered in a May 1 wrong way crash on I-68 near the Pierpont Road exit in Morgantown.

According to a news release, a car driven by Nicole Ferrise entered the eastbound off ramp to I-68 at Pierpont Road traveling west. Ferrise sideswiped another vehicle driven by Steven Knotts then continued, striking another vehicle head on.

Troopers said Knotts died at the scene, Ferrise was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital where she died days later.
