DHHR: Latest test rate at 2.17 percent

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state will head into the third week of Gov. Jim Justice’s reopening plan with a positive coronavirus test rate of 2.17 percent.

The state Department of Health and Human Resources released the latest testing numbers Sunday evening.

There have been 62,885 tests completed with 1,362 positive and 61,523 negative.

The DHHR reported the death of 25-year-old Berkeley County woman earlier Sunday. The 54th COVID-19 death.

The hospitalization numbers have also decreased in the state. There are now 49 people in the hospital and just 10 in ICU. Six of the 10 are being treated with ventilators.

The DHHR lists 505 active cases and 775 recoveries

Week 3 of Justice’s reopening plan includes wellness centers and drive-in movie theaters. Justice is expect to announce what will reopen in the fourth week at his Monday media briefing.
