Hardy County police investigate shooting deaths

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — A pregnant Cumberland, Maryland woman is dead after a suspected murder-suicide in Hardy County.

The Hardy County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting that happened at a home on Trough Road at approximately 11 p.m. Friday.

Deputies found Quentin Strawderman and Ashley McDonald dead inside the home. McDonald was pregnant. The weapon used in the shooting was a .45 caliber handgun. Police said witnesses were present in the house at the time of the shooting.

An investigation is continuing, pending results of the autopsies and report of the medical examiner.
