Motorcycle rider killed, two others injured in Mon County crash

MORGANTOWN – One man was killed and two others critically injured in an accident involving a Jeep and a motorcycle near Morgantown.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of a motorcycle was killed Wednesday evening along Hartman Run Road. The motorcycle was headed southbound when a 2007 Jeep Patriot traveling in the opposite lane crossed center, hit a guardrail, then collided with the motorcycle.

The driver of motorcycle died at Ruby Memorial Hospital as a result of his injuries. A passenger on the motorcycle and a passenger in the Jeep were also transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital and were listed in critical condition. Timothy Lee Black, 30, of Jefferson, Pennsylvania, was driving the Jeep. He was treated for minor injuries at the scene then arrested for a Violation of Probation warrant out in Greene County, Pennsylvania.

Black was being held at North Central Regional Jail.

Names of the other victims involved in the crash have not been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
