Funeral service tonight for Greenbrier County fire victims

LEWISBURG, W.Va. — Four children killed in a house fire last week in Greenbrier County will be remembered in a joint funeral service Thursday night in Lewisburg.

Shaun Dawson Bumgarner, age 7, Riley James Bumgarner, age 6, and their half-brothers, Arikyle Nova Myers, age 3 and Haiken Jirachi Myers, age 1, died Dec. 8 when flames filled their residence on Flynn Creek Road near Williamsburg.

A fifth child, Kian Myers, age 4, also died in the blaze.

Oreanna Antionette Myers, 25, the mother of three of the children, Aarikyle, Haiken, and Kian, was found dead on the lawn outside the house. Police have not said how she died. A cause of the fire remains under investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s Office.

An obituary says the children were affectionately known as “Team Shark.”

Shaun, a second grader at Frankford Elementary, wanted to be an astronaut. Riley, a kindergarten student at Frankford, was learning to play the piano and the ukulele, according to the obituary.

A joint memorial service begins at 7 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg preceded by a walk-through visitation at 3 p.m.
