Woman dies after vehicle crashes into home

BAKER HEIGHTS, W.Va. — An elderly woman died after a vehicle was driven into her home on Blairton Road in Berkeley County Monday evening.

The Baker Heights Volunteer Fire Department report being dispatched to the scene around 6 p.m., where they found an elderly woman not breathing after being hit by a vehicle in her home.

Witnesses report seeing the vehicle flee toward Shepherdstown Road.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in finding the vehicle, which they say is possibly a GMC or Chevrolet truck/SUV. Possibly a Silverado or Yukon. The vehicle will have heavy front end damage and is missing a headlight.

The sheriff’s department confirmed the incident was a fatal hit and run but have not identified the victim.
