WHEELING, W.Va. — Multiple people have been arrested because of alleged drug use at a Wheeling home.
The Wheeling Police Department on Friday announced the charges, which stem from suspicious activity last month in south Wheeling.
Officers went to an Eoff Street residence on Jan. 13 and approached a woman while she was leaving the house. The officers noted the woman — later identified as 27-year-old Harley Kay Blake, of Wheeling — appeared to be hiding something. It was later discovered Blake was possessing fentanyl. She was cited and released on possession of a controlled substance.
Police continued to investigate the residence following community complaints. Officers obtained a warrant on Jan. 18; while inside, police found illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Police arrested three people:
— Joseph Stephen Paree, 31 of Wheeling, who was arrested on an active state felony warrant for malicious assault.
— Roberta Jasmine Sheets, 35 of Martins Ferry, Ohio; arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
— Treva Lynn Hamm, 40 of Wheeling; charged on a state summons for operating and maintaining drug premises.
Paree and Sheets were arraigned, in which bond was set at $1,000 cash for Sheets and $2,500 for Paree. Hamm has been served a summons.
