MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — For the first time in fifteen years, the University of Charleston women’s basketball team is bound for the NCAA Division II Elite Elight. The Golden Eagles (19-2) defeated Tiffin, 82-52 Tuesday in the Atlantic Regional title game in Columbus, Ohio.

Charleston outscored Tiffin 30-7 in the second quarter, en route to a 41-18 halftime lead. The Golden Eagles limited Tiffin to just 15-of-50 shooting from the floor and 3-of-16 from three-point range.
Brooklyn Pannell led UC with 27 points. Erykah Russell scored 17 points and Dakota Reeves chipped in with 11 points.
UC is one of three No. 1 seeds to advance to the Elite Eight, which will also be held in Columbus. The bracket will be seeded.
