BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. – A drug dealer stopped by with a delivery at the same time law enforcement was executing a search warrant last week in Morgan County.
Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer said it was a combined effort by sheriff’s departments out of Berkeley and Morgan Counties along with the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force.
Teams executed a search warrant August 26th in the Hedgesville area of Morgan County based on an ongoing Task Force investigation.
During the search, police found fentanyl/ heroin mixture capsules, ‘boot” marijuana, schedule II and III prescription pills, and crack cocaine.
There were also two firearms, digital scales and items consistent with distribution of narcotics as well as about $3,600.00 in US currency.
The individual at the center of the investigation is a person prohibited from possessing firearms due to being a convicted felon.
While police were on scene, the subject’s alleged fentanyl supplier came by with a delivery and was subsequently arrested. Sheriff Bohrer said officers were able to intercept what he called a ‘large quantity’ of fentanyl and oxycodone tablets that are possibly counterfeit and made of compressed fentanyl.
Approximately $1600.00 of U.S. Currency was seized from ‘that’ individual, who was placed under arrest and taken to the Eastern Regional Jail.
Sheriff Bohrer did not name the suspect or the individual placed under arrest. He said the investigation is ongoing.
