BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Pedro Dolabella scored in the 89th minute to lift Marshall past Bowling Green, 1-0, in a men’s soccer match Saturday night at Cochrane Stadium.
Milo Yosef got the assist on the goal, which came at 88:27.
Cooper Blay started in goal. Oliver Semmle got a red card late in a match against East Tennessee State and had to sit out this contest.
The Falcons did not have a shot on goal against the Herd (3-1-1).
Marshall entered ranked sixth in the College Soccer News poll, No. 7 in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll and 10th in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
This was the second home match for Bowling Green (3-1-1). This was the Mid-American Conference member’s first home match against a Top 10 team in three years.
Logan Kowalczyyk started in goal for the Falcons. He’s now allowed just two goals to date.
The Herd’s win ended Bowling Green’s unbeaten streak at home at 10.
Bowling Green leads the all-time series 8-6-3. They are 5-2-1 at home, 1-4-2 in Huntington and 2-0 in neutral-site matches.
Marshall returns to Hoops Family Field for four-straight home contests beginning with No. 5 West Virginia on Friday.
