MASON COUNTY, W.Va. — Mason County authorities have launched a homicide investigation after a body was found Thursday in the Letart area.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Department responded to Gill Ridge Road around 1:30 p.m. after a tree-trimming crew found an abandoned truck with a body in the vehicle’s bed.
The victim’s name has not been released as of Thursday evening.
The State Medical Examiner’s Office is performing an autopsy on the body to determine the cause of death.
