Murder trial begins in Beckley

BECKLEY, W.Va. — A murder trial related to the 2018 fatal shooting in Beckley began Thursday.

Davide Hudson is accused of killing Amber Meadows at a hotel located on Harper Road.

According to Raleigh County authorities, Tyrique Pearl, Jonathan Bird, and Antonio Williams met Meadows and two other women at a gas station. Hudson had a conflict with Meadows’ partner at the time.

When the women went to the Travelodge location, Hudson insisted on getting something from Meadows. Pearl told authorities that Hudson wanted to kill the other women as well.

Hudson’s counsel Robert Dunlap said it is not clear if it was Hudson who shot Amber.

According to WVVA-TV, the prosecution could pursue a felony murder charge or a guilty murder charge.
