Huntington police identify body as missing person

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Huntington Police Department has identified a body discovered Monday as that of a missing man.

According to authorities, the body of 70-year-old Charles Allen Carroll of Huntington was located in the 1400 block of Edwards Street. The property owner discovered the body in an outbuilding.

Officers said Carroll was last seen on Dec. 30, 2021 as he was leaving Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was reported missing on Jan. 5.

The state Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
