Man’s body found after being swept away by floodwaters

MILTON, W.Va. — The body of a Cabell County man swept away by floodwaters Friday morning was recovered Friday evening.

Cabell County Sheriff Chuck Zerkle said Denver Edmunds, 63, Milton, died after high water along Kilgore Creek Road upended the farm tractor he was operating.

First responders spent most of Friday looking for Edmunds. His body was recovered at around 6:30 p.m.

Friday brought flooding rains in several parts of Cabell County. Damage was reported in parts of Huntington, Milton and Barboursville.
