Man who drove through DQ now in jail

SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. — The driver who rammed his car through a Putnam County Dairy Queen Saturday night was charged and put in jail Sunday.

State police charged Casey Matthew Oxley, 40, with multiple criminal counts.

Troopers said Oxley has told them repeatedly that he sped into the Dairy Queen along Teays Valley Road in Scott Depot intentionally but he hasn’t told them why.

Five people were working at the time. No one was injured.

Troopers said Oxley was a problem at CAMC Teays Valley Saturday night after the crash where he allegedly attempted to assault hospital workers.

He’s charged with five counts of attempted malicious assault, battery on a health care worker, battery on emergency personnel, assault on emergency personnel, felony destruction of property and reckless driving.

Oxley is housed in the Western Regional Jail on $100,000 bail.
