Arrest made in Lincoln County deadly shooting

BRANCHLAND, W.Va. — A Lincoln County man is charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting Thursday evening.

State Police said Cory Donahue, 30, was arrested for the shooting death of Richard Vance, 34, both of Branchland.

It happened at around 6:30 p.m. on Sand Gap Road near Branchland.

Donahue is accused of firing a single shot from a long gun, striking Vance.

Vance was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital by Healthnet where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation continues.
