Shooting near WVU Campus injures one

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Police are investigating a shooting near the West Virginia University Campus in Morgantown.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Grant Avenue at approximately 11:45 p.m. Monday where one person had been shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A suspect was last seen running toward Beechurst Avenue and 6th Street, wearing a red hoodie, blue jeans, and tennis shoes. Police are also looking for a white Mercedes with tinted windows and possibly with a tail light out.

WVU Police issued an alert to students and others in the area to shelter in place and avoid the area when the incident was first reported. Police issued an all-clear shortly after 12:30 a.m.
