FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Four more arrests have been made in connection with the motorcycle gang-related shooting in Marion County.
According to Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Riffle. authorities have charged Jonathan Biller, 42, Derek Clem, 28, Dane Hull, 27, and Austin Mullins, 26, with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the September 2022 death of Henry Silver.
“We executed seven search warrants in four different counties here in West Virginia as a result of that investigation,” Riffle said. “Recently, the Marion County grand jury returned some sealed indictments, and we were looking for those individuals.”
Police said the investigation stems from Silver and John Wolfe, a Pagans Motorcycle Gang member, being involved with the same woman. Wolfe is already facing murder charges and is in custody.
Court documents indicate the victim, Silver, was in a relationship with Wolfe’s significant other at the time of the killing.
Authorities allege Wolfe made a phone call after getting into an altercation with Silver in an apartment in the Marion County community of Carolina. Two men then arrived at the scene, one wearing a ski mask, and shot Silver. All three fled the area following the shooting.
Detectives said all five suspects met prior to the killing and discussed Silver.
Also charged in the incident were Mark Smith, 44, for possession with intent to deliver, and Nicholas Littleton for fleeing and obstructing.
“They (the Pagans) have a presence throughout North Central West Virginia, not just Marion County,” Riffle said. “Actually, they have a presence up and down the east coast.”
Riffle acknowledged Pagan involvement in the 2018 murder of Luka Gabb and an attack on a suspected member of the Hell’s Angles in White Hall in 2019. Multiple subjects are behind bars as a result of those investigations. Riffle added that all members of the Pagan Motorcycle Club are not involved in criminal activity, and there is a location in Harrison County that “could be construed as a clubhouse.”
“There is a local chapter, and they have been involved in some other criminal activities that have resulted in some arrests,” Riffle said.
Riffle said additional arrests in the Silver case are possible.
