CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Lottery has exceeded $1.2 billion in sales with one month to go in the fiscal year.
The Lottery Commission was given updated financial numbers at its monthly meeting earlier this week.
There were $108.6 million in sales in May, topping May 2022 by nearly $2 million.

Racetrack Video Lottery and Limited Video Lottery have nearly identical revenue numbers this fiscal year. The slot machines and the racetrack/casinos have brought in $457 million this fiscal year. The machines in local communities have collected $453 million in revenue after 11 months of the budget year.
Revenue from table games were down both in May and are down year-to-date by a little more than $1 million.
Sports betting has brought in $5 million so far this fiscal year which is outpacing last year’s 11-month mark by $800,000.
The West Virginia Lottery passed the $1 billion sales mark in April. The only time the mark wasn’t hit in more than a dozen years was in 2020, the pandemic year.
