I-64 crash in Raleigh County claims life

BEAVER, W.Va. — One person was killed in a wreck on Interstate 64 in Raleigh County Tuesday evening.

According to authorities, the vehicle went off Interstate 64 west near Beaver, down a 200-foot embankment and burst into flames.

First responders were able to recover the body by using a rope system due to the terrain.

The person’s identity has not been released.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

Traffic was slowed on I-64 during the recovery efforts.
